it was incredibly partisan. does that tell us more about the speech or the room that it was delivered in? >> oh, i think it's both, but i think, without a doubt, the president had different messages for different groups. he was trying to speak to his own democratic base. he was trying to speak to even moderate democrats, independent voters who are frustrated with government. but he did want to do two things to the right. on one hand, he said look, i want to look for pragmatic ways to work together. i'm not going to try to shove health care down your throat, but i am going to blame you if you stand on the sidelines and require that it takes 60 votes in the senate to get nippianyth. you're going to have to be accountable for what goes on or doesn't get down in washington. he's playing the outsider. >> he says he wants a jobs bill sooner rather than later. how tough a battle, how tough will the fight be over the content of that bill? >> well, i don't think it will have to be that big. the house has passed the bill, they have to work on elements of that. the senate can take it up as well. there seems
